Why it matters

Growing up, my grandmother has always been one of my biggest source of wisdom and inspiration. She taught me the values of compassion and giving back, and those lessons have stayed with me throughout my life. Her stories about the elderly, especially my grandfather —about their resilience, struggles, and often-forgotten contributions—moved me deeply.

A few years ago, I visited an elder care home in Gujarat, the Jeevan Sandhya Old Age Home - Vanprasth Sewa Samaj. This day forever changed my perspective towards the life of an elder. As I sat with the residents, I heard stories that almost brought tears to my eyes —stories of love and loss, of dreams that had faded, and of lives lived with grace despite hardships. One conversation I’ll never forget was with an elderly gentleman who had spent decades as a school teacher. He shared how he missed the joy of a full classroom and the laughter of children. His words reminded me that even those who give so much often find themselves forgotten in their later years.

That visit left a profound impact on me. I knew I had to do something, no matter how small, to support these homes and bring comfort to the people living there. This is why I’ve pledged to donate 1% of every sale from our store to support such a cause.

This initiative isn’t just about donations—it’s about remembering the people who helped shape our world and giving them the comfort and respect they’ve earned.
